My interests are in art and French culture.
My first degree was a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maine College of Art, and I continue to work independently in photography. My subsequent academic degrees were in 18th century French literature and culture, including a PhD from King’s College London. I have taught French literature at two London universities and my doctoral research was published by Peter Lang in 2016.
In recent years, my attention has turned to 19th century French culture, and in particular the life of Impressionist painter Camille Pissarro and his family, and his friend, the writer, Octave Mirbeau. I share my research on this site.
